Abstract
Abstract: To prolong their lifetime and improve their wear resistance, amorphous metallic ribbons were implanted with phosphorus, nitrogen and chromium ions at different fluences and temperatures. Only nitrogen implanted at 0°C with rather high fluences improves simultaneously the microhardness, wear resistance and lifetime of the ribbons. CEMS and GXRD techniques have been used for characterizing the implanted layers.
